Meier PMRC Travel Award

The purpose of the PMRA Meier Travel Award is to provide financial support to doctoral students to travel to the Public Management Research Conference (PMRC).

The Public Management Research Association is proud to recognize the recipients of this year’s Meier Travel Award, which supports promising doctoral students in their commitment to advancing public management research.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, doctoral students must be PMRA members and presenting a paper at the PMRC conference.

Application Process

Application for this award will be accepted January 15 - February 10, 2026.

Application details, required materials, and submission deadlines will be posted prior to the opening of the application period.

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be reviewed by the award committee based on criteria established for the applicable award cycle.

Awardee Notification:
Applicants selected to receive an award will be notified in March 2026. This allows sufficient time to finalize trave arrangements to the 2026 Public Management Research Conference. 

Award & Recognition

Recipients will be recognized in conjunction with the 2026 Public Management Research Conference, June 4–6, 2026, at American University in Washington, D.C.

Award amounts are determined annually based on available resources. The typical value of the award has fluctuated over the years, with estimates ranging from $500 to $1000.
