Meier PMRC Travel Inclusion Award

The purpose of the PMRA Meier Travel Inclusion Award is to provide financial support to doctoral students to travel to the Public Management Research Conference (PMRC). Specifically, it is intended to expand the diversity of PMRC attendees, broadly defined.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, doctoral students must be PMRA members and presenting a paper at the PMRC conference.

Application Process

Application for this award will be accepted January 31 - February 20, 2025.

  • a short statement about your eligibility for this award
  • a PDF copy of your curriculum vitae (CV)

The submission deadline for the PMRA 2025 Awards has passed, and submissions are now closed.

Assessment Criteria

The primary aim is to provide financial support to doctoral students who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Identify as part of historically underrepresented group in their home country, broadly defined (e.g. race, ethnicity, gender, religion, etc.) with priority given to underrepresented students from the U.S.
  • Study in a doctoral program outside of the United States, Western Europe, South Korea, and the highly developed regions of China (i.e. coastal areas and large metropolitan areas such as Beijing)
  • Participation in the conference would represent a financial hardship (e.g. will receive limited or no financial support from their department, etc).

Awardee Notification:
Applicants selected to receive an award will be notified by March 14, 2025. This allows sufficient time to finalize arrangements for participation in the 2025 Public Management Research Conference to be held at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea, June 25-28, 2025. 

Award & Recognition

The award recipients will be formally recognized at the upcoming Public Management Research Conference.

The value of the award has fluctuated over the years, with estimates ranging from $500 to $1000.
